A dozen Blue Wave alumni were named to the 2010 Orange County High School All-Star teams that played June 8 at Glover Stadium in Anaheim.
Present or past Blue Wave players named to the South All-Star Team are: Lee Casas (Capo Valley), Bret Dahlson (JSerra), Blake Davey (Newport Harbor), Sam Kim (Mission Viejo), Chad Ludwig (Woodbridge,) and Brandon Trinkwon (Beckman).
Present or past Blue Wave players named to the North All-Star Team are: Austin Boyle (El Modena), Jason Dietrich (Pacifica), Phil Ferragamo (Canyon), Michael Maciel (Esperanza), Troy Newman (Esperanza), and Andrew Thurman (Orange Lutheran).
Of the 12 Blue Wave players on the All-Star teams, six played for JSerra head coach Bret Kay during his Blue Wave coaching days – their names appear in bold face above.
“Blue Wave is proud of each of these players, they have all worked to earn this honor and have fantastic families that have supported their efforts all these years,” noted Steve Kruse, Blue Wave president and general manager. “Each of these players are graduating and moving on to college baseball, but will remember playing in this game for the rest of their lives.”
To be considered a Blue Wave alumni, the player must have played at least one full season with Blue Wave.
